So powerful!

Dear Friends,

To understand the depth of this album, is to understand what life is essentially all about.

Our first album produced with the talented Sruly Green, who brings such an energetic vibe to everything he does, will spread simcha to any one who listens. Al pi Derech Haba’al Shem Tov, Sruly teaches through song the message that each Yid can access superpowers that live deep inside themselves. A Yid doesn’t have to look for an external source of energy, rather, they are powered by an inherent Kedusha! This is our superpower. This energy allows a Yid to overcome adversity, find strength in the face of fear, and to believe in their essential goodness.

Life takes us to many places, and the journey can at times seem like an impossible task. But Hashem implanted in each of us this superpower and gave it the ability to infuse us with Chizzuk, Simcha, and Emuna.

The title track of the album, Koach HaYisraeli, drives home this point. This song especially is a message of hope and empowerment; a reminder that we are all stronger than we think, and that because of this gift from Hashem, we can achieve anything we set our minds to. It also alludes to the power and energy, “the koach” of the message that Sruly, “Hayisraeli”, imparts through the album, with kumzitz, dance, and hartzig hits, each song a reminder that you are not alone, and that you have the power to overcome anything.

The incredibly talented Mendy Portnoy takes the message of each song and beautifully blends the holy words with the uplifting music, bringing to life the personalities and journeys of everyone involved in the album.

And now, we are so excited to present this album to you. We hope that through getting to internalize Sruly’s message of Emunah in the koach of a Yid, you can also tap into your superpower and work on perfecting the world and bringing Mashiach, may it come speedily in our days.

Nekudah Kedushah
נקודה קדושה

A few years ago, I came across a Sefer that really connected to my neshama. The sefer taught about how every Yid has a holy point no matter where life may have taken them. There is a part in each of us that can never be ruined and that we each have… just because we are part of this glorious nation of Am Yisrael!

Ashreinu! Ashreinu that we can count ourselves amongst a nation of people with intrinsic holiness. My hope is that through this song, we can tap into this kedusha and raise ourselves up to even higher levels.

Birchas Hedyit
ברכת הדיוט

Chazal teaches us of the incredible power of Hashem's blessing being delivered through the Birkat Kohanim—when the kohanim bless us. They bring down Hashem's presence into our lives and give us protection from Heaven over all that we do.

But there's something you may not have known: every single Yid has the power to bless their brothers and sisters! Chazal tells us to never discount the power contained within every Yid… and that includes what's contained within YOU! Share a caring word, a smile, or a kind thought. Share your blessings with the world!

מעין עולם הבא

Shabbos is a taste of the World to Come, a mini Olam Habah experience. There are many connections between the two, but we love to focus on the following idea.

In the World to Come we will be able to enjoy Hashem's closeness to each and every Yid, and to literally experience the clarity that comes with fully understanding Hashem and his world.

On Shabbos, we access a taste of that experience.

Stop for a moment as Shabbos begins, and say Thank You Hashem! Thank You Hashem for giving us a day to unplug and recharge our spiritual batteries.

None of the distractions of the week, just us and Hashem… a true taste of the Word to Come.

Any Day Now
נאנטע טעג יעצט

The times we live in are the times of Mashiach, The Ikvise Dimishicha.

Our belief has always been that a Yid lives every day like this: that this is the day that Mashiach is going to come. Because of this perspective we never become complacent or content with our place in the world; always knowing that better days are just around the corner.

This attitude has been with us throughout all the years, and has kept us strong and resolute in the face of insurmountable challenges.

We pray for it, we sing it, and we know it. Any day now… he’s coming any day now.

Beautiful People
ביוטיפיל פיפעל

Michoel Schnitzler was a powerhouse of Yideshkeit, and during the week of Shiva following his sudden passing, we sat down reflecting on the tremendous impact he had on each and every person that he met.

That night in the studio we composed a song to remember Michoel. It was not an easy task. This was a man who put his entire neshama into his music with one goal in mind: to uplift every listener. His music was full of chizzuk, and it was a direct reflection of who he was as a person.

With this song, we remember a man who would instantly bring simcha to every situation. We remember a friend who lived to be mechazek another person. We remember a true Yid who looked at each of his brothers and sisters with eyes full of love, hope, and positivity—greeting everyone with a “Hello, all you beautiful people!”

By embracing and embodying the beliefs that he so strongly was an adherent of, the lessons that Michoel taught us live on.

Spreading joy with this song, in the derech that Michoel taught us, should be an aliyah for his holy neshama. Amein.

Normally, because of its words, a song is relatively limited to the message intended by the artist.

A niggun with no words, however, has a special power to allow each person to impart their own emotions and feelings into the tune.

Using today’s unique musical language, this song fuses together a modern sound with the timeless power of a niggun.

So close your eyes, sing this over and over, and imagine your own unique message of strength emanating from the sounds of this niggun.

This profound and deep message was imparted by the Rebbe of Piazetzna, Rav Klonimus Kalman Shapiro HY’D.

“Believe in the power of the Yid that is both within you and within your service of Hashem. Furthermore, you will see that once you recognize and focus on this power, you will be instantly uplifted and you will begin to illuminate the entire world… like a big bright star.”

No explanation needed. You have a super power, and when you realize it, you can change the world!

Takum

We are well aware that the Torah’s general viewpoint is that struggles are part of life, and failing at times is part of struggling. We are taught that Sheva Yipol Tzadik V'kam: the righteous fall many times but the ultimate goal is to get up after each fall, dust ourselves off, and continue our growth.

In a profoundly deep teaching, Rav Yitzchak Meir Morganstern connects a verse from Tehillim to this idea. The passuk says “Rabos Machashavos B’lev Ish, Viatzas Hashem He Takum.” Read literally, the passuk means “There are many thoughts in man's heart, but the everlasting ideas are those that belong to Hashem.”

Rav Morganstern sees another hidden message in the verse. While struggling, failing and inevitably falling down, man thinks many different things—including discouraging thoughts of despair and giving up—but an everlasting, enduring, and most powerful voice from Hashem is always calling out to us “Get UP and return to Me, My beloved children!”

R' Levi Yitzchak
ר' לוי יצחק

A long standing and often misunderstood tradition is the minhag to repeat the names of tzaddikim in times of need.

Is this a magic trick or some kind of good luck charm? Of course not!

By saying the name of the Tzaddik we attach ourselves to their zechus, to their place next to Hashem in Shamayim, and to the lessons and values that they imparted on us through their lives and teachings.

This is especially true about R' Levi Yitzchak Ben Sara Sasha. A pure and righteous leader who is known as the Defender of Klal Yisroel, R' Levi went to battle every day of his life to defend each and every Jew from prosecution in the heavenly court.

His sefer, The Kedushas Levi, is overflowing with a deep love for every Yid. Connecting to this Tzaddik means connecting to the essence of his way of life; to always find the positive points within ourselves and everyone around us.

Ashreinu to connect to the Tzaddik, R Levi Yitzchak Ben Sara Sasha!!

A Gitteh Nacht
גוטע נאכט

This composition came to me as a gift from Hashem, and I see myself as the conduit to bringing this bakasha to the world.

As a child, my mother would say this tefila with me before bed, “שדי ישמרינו ויצילנו מכל רע” and as I grew older, I added my own additional words to complete the idea.

Our goal is to have a real and authentic relationship with Hashem, and saying goodnight is part of that. We turn to Hashem at the end of the day, knowing that He is the One who saves and protects us at all times. We may be sleeping but Hashem is always guarding us.

Vaiter means reach higher, to continue further and take everything to a whole new level!

This song is inspired by R’ Sruly Besser, who rightfully pointed out that in order to complete the impact of living the Thank You Hashem life, we need to accompany the message with a special prayer. We say Thank you Hashem, and we also daven to Hashem this: “Please continue showering us with your abundance and Shefa, Vaiter, Vaiter- Ki L’olam Chasdo—your kindness endures forever, Vaiter, Vaiter!”

To my daughter, Vora.

Vora, my love towards you is not based on what you do—and even though I always enjoy singing with you in the car, next to your bed, or in the rain—my love towards you is based on who you are. Your blessings are powerful!

Any day now Moshiach will be here. Any day Moshiach will come, and he will point at you and say you bought the geula closer!   Vora, believe in the Yiddish koach that’s in you. As your father, it's a gift to watch you grow up… growing higher and higher towards your best self. The Bardichever z"l was a very holy person—a tzaddik—but he was also known for his tremendous love for each Yid. Vora, I see that in you too.

And just like Yerushalayim—our most sacred city is a star—you are a star.

To my family, for always pushing me, supporting me, and believing in me. They were the ones who raised my confidence and always said —'Sruly, you are a singer! This is what you've gotta do. You're going to make people happy, you're doing it right. This is what you should do.’

Still today, my parents are my biggest fans. They constantly ask me: 'Sruly, when is the next album coming out?' With their support and encouragement I’m so thankful to Hashem and excited to share this masterpiece with the world.

Last but not least, how could I ever get here without my siblings! It’s because of my siblings and the musical family that I grew up in, that I can be where I am right now releasing this album.

Thank you.

Thank you Hashem for this incredible opportunity. Thank you TYH Nation for all that you do for yidden all across the world and for making this album happen. You Mamash changed my life. Please Hashem continue to help me spread love, joy, happiness and inspire yidden through the power of music.

Thank you Zishe Surkis for being the driving force behind my musical career. I remember A few years ago Zishe looked me in the eye and said Sruly we need more music, the world needs your music, lets do this! He was so right. This is my dream! TYH! Thank you Zishe for your constant support on my journey.

Get ready..He’s coming any day now!
